How Does Anti-Hit of Barrier Gate Work

May 12, 2023

The function of anti-hit of barrier is very important, it can protect vehicle or person no to be hit by the boom arm. Normally there are four ways for anti-hit.

Anti-hit by Pressure Resistance Bounce

While moving down, boom arm will immediately go back to vertical position once it is obstructed by an imposed force, which protects the vehicle or person not to be hit by boom arm. It is built in the controller unit, no need to add extra devices.

Anti-hit by Loop Detector

While barrier boom moving down, If a coming vehicle was detected to be existing on the ground induction coil, the barrier boom will go back to vertical position immediately until loop input was dismissed and then the barrier boom will go down immediately. The key of this anti-hit technology is the stability of the ground induction coil. It will no work properly if it is disturbed by metal and there must be no more than 220V power supply line within 1 meter range. And it can detect vehicle only, cannot protect people to be hit by the barrier arm.

Anti-hit by Infra Red Photo Cell

While barrier boom moving down, If infrared transportation between transmitter and receiver is blocked by human or vehicle, the barrier arm will go back to vertical position immediately. The arm will automatically close once the infrared transportation recovers. But the range of the infrared is small, and it is easy to be disturbed by rain and snow weather.

Anti-hit by Radar

Radar anti -hit has only been applied in the entry and exit control system in recent years, the working principle is that the vehicle enters the "anti -hit radar" microwave range. The barrier will automatically close until the vehicle is completely left. During the period, if the "anti -hit radar" is recognized by the existence of cars or pedestrians within the range of the automatic barrier, it will keep the gate lift up to avoid hitting the car or people.
